CLEVELAND –February 6, 2013 - The Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine has received a $220,000 grant from the DeGregorio Family Foundation to study gastric cancers, which remain among the most deadly forms of disease. Click here to read the press release.

Most people who have started foundations have certainly had more money and experience than Lynn DeGregorio - think of Carnegie or Rockefeller - but while she is not the first person to start a foundation, few have felt their philanthropy as personally. The DeGregorio Family Foundation was founded by Lynn when her sister was diagnosed with the same type of stomach cancer that had taken her father's life nearly three decades earlier. The doctors treating her sister had no more effective treatments in 2004 than they had in 1976 when her father got sick. Lynn's grandmother and many other members of her extended family had died from stomach cancer as well. Read the complete article...

On December 19, 2011, the DeGregorio Family Foundation visited the NYSE highlighting the urgency for more funding of stomach and esophageal cancer research. In honor of the occasion, the Board of Directors of the DeGregorio Family Foundation rang the closing bell.
